ROBERTO, James Gennaro - Jimmy lived a full and happy life and will now have everlasting peace. Born on February 5, 1923, Jim passed away on Monday, September 7, 2015 at the Welland Hospital in his 93rd year. He is reunited with his loving wife Muriel (nee Beatty) (1987). Cherished father of Paula Lynn (Ron) Roberto-Potter. Dear brother of Thomas "Tommy" (Shirley) and brother-in-law of Shirley Roberto. Predeceased by his parents, Pasquale (1963) and Raffaela Roberto (1980), brother Tony (1990) and his wife Presentine (2014), and sister Rose Aceti (2003) and her husband John (2004), and his brother Wally (2010). Jim will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He operated the Roberto's Half Moon Restaurant with his family for over 60 years, retiring in 1987. Jim was also a member of St. Vincent De Paul, Rose City Seniors Amateur radio Club, The King Street Boys, Hamilton Gun Club, and a faithful and well known member of The Parish Community of St. Kevin. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at J.J. Patterson & Sons Funeral Residence 19 Young Street, Welland where vigil prayers will be said at 2 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at The Parish Community of St. Kevin on Friday morning at 11:30. Rite of Committal to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Tommy I worked there in the late 60s, early 70's while I was in high school as a bus girl, serving banquets downstairs. Take care. Jim was a very special man.
