BROWN, Florence Eileen (nee Tudhope) - Florence, known as “Tuddy“, passed away peacefully at home on Thanksgiving Sunday, October 9, 2011, in her 81st year. Wife of the late Albert (Ab) Brown, daughter of the late Hugh Reid C. Tudhope and Mary MacLean all of Orillia. Mother and dear friend of Margot and Butch Thomas, Duncan and Sherry Brown, Libby and Roger Boucher and Julie and David Whyte. Dear Grammie of Kate (Ryan Bonneville) and Kristin (Jason Coyle) Thomas; Erin (Craig Anderson), Kelly, Alana and Thomas Brown; Jacqueline, Ashley and Jake Whyte. Aunt of Bill and Tom Brown (Niki) of Vancouver; Bob and Diane Brown, Gail Brown and Dan Ryan and the late Nancy Ryan and Bill Brown, all of Orillia. Special Great Aunt of Nathan, Courtney and Bill of Orillia and Erica and Christopher of Vancouver. Florence was educated as a teacher but quickly became a full-time wife and mother. She was an active volunteer with the Canadian Cancer Society, the Mississauga Seniors Centre as well as a long time active member of St. Luke's on-the-Hill and Applewood United Churches. The family will receive friends in the parlour at Applewood United Church, 2067 Stanfield Rd., Mississauga, on Friday October 21, 2011 from 5-9 p.m. A Celebration of Tuddy's life is to be held on Saturday October 22nd, 2011 at Applewood United Church at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Tuddy has requested donations to Free the Children - Children helping children through education - 233 Carlton St., Toronto ON M5A 2L2 or
