YOUNG, Garry Lawrence - 44, died suddenly on Saturday, September 17, 2011. Born in Sudbury, May 10, 1967 to Garry and Louise Young (nee Drago) Garry was the beloved husband for 19 years of Nicola Young (nee Salhus) and father of Normann. Loving brother to Leah Young and Wassim Oueslati and uncle to Aaron and Cameron; grandson of Guy and Gilda Drago (predeceased) and Lawrence (predeceased) and Muriel Young; nephew of Joe and Sylvia Drago, Jim and Marjorie (predeceased) Young and Marilyn Young; son-in-law to Terje and Vivian Salhus; and brother-in-law of Catherine Salhus and Darlene Sunderland and Megan Salhus, Garry will also be missed by his many cousins and friends. A graduate of Queens University Electrical Engineering Program (1990), Garry was a member of the Professional Engineering Association of Ontario, who worked in his field for many prominent Sudbury mining firms starting with Falconbridge, then moving to HATCH and INCO. Outside of work, he was known for his involvement in many hobbies and creative interests which he enjoyed with his wife, son and close friends including karate, model trains, amateur radio, online gaming and for his passion for books and reading. He touched many, many people with an intelligent wit and sense of humour that was always tempered with his own distinctive sensitivity. He loved others with a depth and fullness that enabled him to not only buoy up those closest to him, but also enabled him to touch and support people who only knew him through his online presence.
