VANKOUGHNETT, Shirley Maud - Of St. Thomas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 11th, 2019, at the age of 84 years. Beloved wife and best friend of Clarence Vankoughnett. Dearly loved mother of Deb Whitcroft (Larry), Gerry Vankoughnett (Sandy) and Glenn Vankoughnett (Sheila). Dear sister of Bill Hayes (Diane), Rusty Hayes (Laura) and Rick Hayes (Patty). Lovingly remembered by her nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Shirley was born in Dunnville on June 21st, 1934, daughter of the late Lloyd and Maud (Rutter) Hayes. She was retired from Essex Wire. Shirley was a member of the Elgin Craft Guild. Resting at WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME , 45 Elgin Street, St. Thomas where funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 16th, 2019 at 11:00am. Interment to follow in Elmdale Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, March 15th from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society in Shirley’s memory.
