McMANIS, Sylvia Margaret - Peacefully at The Norfolk General Hospital with her family at her side on Saturday, January 5, 2019. Daughter of the Late Alma and Arthur Doan. Much beloved wife of Richard (Dick) McManis for over 71 years. Loving mother of Dale McManis-Edmonds (Mike), Kathy Stewart (Brian), Rick (Janet), Paul (Brenda) and was predeceased by her daughter Donna. Cherished grandmother of Micaela (Marco), Ryan (Ashleigh), Carole (Craig), Craig (Jennifer), Nicole (Rob), Erin (Jake), Sarah and great grandmother of Megan, Emily, Leland, Lauren, Sammy and Mariah. Dear sister of Gwen Playter (Bud) and niece Leanne and was predeceased by niece Carol. Sylvia along with Dick developed and directed the Black Cap Players for over 28 years, was the long time Technical Director with Simcoe Little Theatre where she directed over 40 shows including 10 years of Olde English Music Hall. She was a Melvin Jones Fellow an honor given to her by the Simcoe Lions Club for her contribution to the club and the community and was a recipient of Provincial Outstanding Volunteer Awards. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be welcomed to join the family for a Celebration of Sylvia’s Life to be held in the spring at Simcoe Little Theatre.
