CRAWFORD, Anne - Peacefully in her sleep, after a long and happy life on Saturday February 3rd 2018 in her 95th year. Anne Frances McGrattan is reunited with her loving husband John (2008) and her daughter Nancy Ann (1987). Loving mother of John (Kathy) Crawford. Cherished Nana of Holly (Keith Edmondson) and Sara (Marcel Marley). Dear sister of Tom (Gwen) and Evelyn (Jim) McGregor, predeceased by her parents Jack and Elizabeth McGrattan and siblings Emily MacDonald, Lillian Ellis, and Buster McGrattan. Also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Anne had fond memories from the time she spent in Smiths Falls when she was first married and cherished the lifelong friendships she made while there. Anne loved playing baseball in her youth and later enjoyed playing in the ladies bowling and golf leagues. She and John helped run the Brant Naval Veterans euchre for many years and up until recently, played 3 times a week. Anne loved a good "chin wag" and could be found every morning at Tim Horton's with the gang. She loved going down memory lane and was a great story teller. She embraced her life at Tranquility Place and continued to make new friendships. Anne was fiercely proud of her granddaughters and was a mother figure to countless people. She lived a good life and she will be missed. Friends will be received at McCLEISTER FUNERAL HOME, 495 Park Road North, Brantford, on Friday February 9th from 6:00 8:00 p.m. A Celebration of Anne's life will be held at the Brantford Navy Club, 54 Wadsworth St., on Saturday February 10th from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place. As expressions of sympathy, donations in memory of Anne made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the charity of your choice would be gratefully appreciated. Brantford was blessed to have such a truly wonderful lady. A real competitor who could keep everyone in her company entertained. My thoughts are with you John as you and your family go though this painful time.
