HARDY, Janet T. - On Sunday, January 28, 2018, God called Janet Hardy to heaven when she peacefully passed away at Kingston General Hospital with her loving daughter by her side holding her hand. Janet was 83 and is now at peace having been reunited with her beloved husband Laurence Hardy, her brother and parents. Janet was a loyal and loving wife and mother who will be greatly missed by her beloved daughter and only child, Gwynne Hardy. She is also survived by a niece in California. Janet is fondly remembered as a supportive, strong, extremely independent and private woman. She worked as a highly talented Interior Designer, teacher and business person, always striving to leave her clients and students satisfied and happy. Janet was a woman of great Christian faith who lived life on her own terms with abundant style, grace and dignity. Friends will remember her as being loyal, discreet and able to throw a great party! She was a generous supporter of the Arts in Kingston, many other charities and of St. George's Cathedral in memory of her husband. Cremation has already taken place at JAMES REID CREMATORIUM . Interment will be private. The Funeral Service will be held at the CATHEDRAL CHURCH OF ST. GEORGE , 270 King Street E., in Kingston, on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with family greeting friends from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. A reception to celebrate Janet's life will take place following the funeral in the back of the Church. A private Celebration of Life will also be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Janet has requested that memorial donations may be made to St. George's Heritage Preservation Trust or to the Heart and Stroke Society.
