SZEPS, Dr. Jerzy - It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Dr. Jerzy Szeps on November 22, at the age of 91. In the late 50's he was Bothwell's town "Doc", then a highly skilled eye surgeon in Chatham until his retirement in the late 90's But Jerry was much more than an M.D., and perhaps his greatest accomplishment was his remarkable view on life. In spite of the horrors and tragedies he encountered as a child during WWII, he chose to view life as an amazing gift, enjoying each and every day. Life was an adventure and his family, whom he loved more than anything else, came first. He also loved to travel and meet people, play chess and tennis, was a voracious reader, and in his later years took on the iMac with gusto. To continue his wonderful adventure he leaves his beloved wife of 69 years Judy, daughter Angela, son Paul, daughter-in-law Paddy, grandchildren Stevie and Cary, sister Stef, nephew Joe (Catherine, Zachary, Matthew, Aaron, Jamie and Tyler) and niece Francine. Jerry will be lovingly remembered by all of us. Travel well my friend. Sleep, Jerzy, sleep. Condolences for the family and donations to the C.N.I.B. may be arranged through the ERB & GOOD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME , 171 King St. S., Waterloo at HREF=""> or 519-745-8445.

To Mrs. Szeps and family, our sincere condolences on the passing of Dr. Szeps. Joe enjoyed the conversations around your kitchen table when he worked your farm and I worked many years with Dr. Szeps in emergency. Our sincere sympathy.

Dr Szeps was wonderful to work with. He was a great teacher and professional. I had recently spoke with several of his friends and shared wonderful memories prior to his passing. He was truly a blessing and will be missed. Our prayers and thoughts are with you.

To Judy and family, Jerzy was a well-respected physician who showed great courage in becoming an eye specialist after several years of family practice. The tennis games we both enjoyed were very memorable. I share your grief in his passing.
