Regent Legault

LEGAULT, Regent - September 18, 1943 - January 7, 2017 It's with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Regent Legault, 73 years on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Health Sciences North with his family by his side, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband of the late Pauline (nee Tetreault) who passed away May 12, 2010. Loving father of Carmen and Lise (Steve). Amazing pépère to his grandchildren Jasmine, Jake, Brittany, Jenny, T.J. and great grandfather (papa) to Oakley. Born in Sarnia, he was the son of the late Leonard and Alice (Hamel) Legault. Dear brother of Roger (Ruth - predeceased), Rita (John), Bob (Sharron) and Marie (Terry). He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends. The Legault homestead was in Warren, ON where Reg spent many summers helping out on the family farm. That's where he met the love of his life Pauline in 1964, they married on October 11, 1965. Reg and Pauline had two daughters and made their home in Sudbury. Reg worked 32 years for INCO before retiring and making Elliot Lake their new home. The most important and the number one thing for him was his family. The love for his grandchildren and his great grandson showed right up until his last breath, he was so worried to leave us. His second love would have to be his hockey. A die-hard Toronto Maple Leaf fan! Reg also loved the outdoors, hiking, snow shoeing, fishing and hunting. We will all hold fond memories of the years spent at Jocko Point enjoying numerous fishing derbies, pig roasts and family reunions. We take comfort that dad is now reunited with mom. No doubt they are dancing as Elvis serenades them. Dad we love you and the memories will be forever in our hearts. Rest easy now. XOX. There will be a celebration of Regent's Life in July 2017 in Sarnia ON. Interment of his cremains will take place in the Spring in the family plot in Warren ON. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. The family would like to thank Dr. Cano, Dr. Slaney, Dr. Singh and the staff of 4 North at Health Sciences North for all the great care and compassion they gave dad. Also a big thank you to the volunteers Pauline and Jim at Maison McCulloch Hospice for sitting and bringing comfort to him. Arrangements entrusted to RANGER'S CREMATION AND BURIAL SERVICES LTD.
