VAIL, Donna (nee Burton) - At the Brantford General Hospital on Friday, August 30th, at the age of 75 years. Beloved wife and best friend to Harold Vail. Much loved mom to Donna Lynn Shields (Larry) and the late Deryl Shields. Step mom to Don Vail (Ursula) and Sharrie Warrington (Gary). Adored Nanny to Samantha, Tara, Danny, Dustin, Ryan and Kyla. Daughter to the late William and Dorothy Burton of Nova Scotia. Cherished sister to Philip Burton (Carol), and predeceased by Gardiner, Deryl, Cookie and Billy. Loved by her great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Donna was a 41 year volunteer with the Brantford School of Instrumental Music, a lifetime member of Big Sisters of Brantford, the first president of the VanEl Condominium 42, on the board for Habitat for Humanity, a charter member of Probus, and gave her time to Meals on Wheels and Christmas Baskets. She loved curling, her exercise classes at the Wayne Gretzky Centre, the card group and golf, but mostly she loved her family and friends. Friends will be received at DENNIS TOLL FUNERAL HOME 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford on Thursday, September 5th from 7 - 9 p.m. and on Friday, September 6th from 10 - 11 a.m. with a Memorial Service to follow in the chapel at 11a.m. Donations to the Brantford School of Instrumental Music, Christmas Baskets or Habitat for Humanity would be greatly appreciated. www.dennistoll.ca12557682

I only knew Donna for a short time but will forever value her friendship. She had tremendous strength, a positive spirit and a wonderful sense of humour. She made the world a better place and was all class. My thoughts and prayers are with her loved ones.

donna vail was a remarkable women she was so kind and patient I have never known a women that has gave so much love and dedication my heart goes out to Harold and all her family and friends I know she will be missed by many always in our heart donna till we meet again
