Elizabeth Jane (nee Burman), “Bubba“ Fraser

FRASER, Elizabeth Jane (nee Burman), “Bubba“ - Peacefully on Friday, December 9, 2011 at St. Mary's of the Lake Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family. Liz, in her 63rd year, beloved wife and best friend to Douglas Fraser of Gould Lake. Loving mother of Michelle Fraser (Karl Hammer) and Jay Fraser. Devoted 'nama of Jack Hammer. Predeceased by her parents Jack and Eileen Burman and mother-in-law, Jean Fraser. Dear sister of Jack (Betty) Burman of Atlanta, Georgia. Missed dearly by father- in-law, Clarke Fraser and brother-in-law, Warren (Ginette) Fraser. Her nieces and nephews will remember her with fondness. Liz's family extends heartfelt appreciation to the staff at St. Mary's of the Lake Hospital, Palliative Care Unit. Liz was a dedicated and treasured educator (retired in 2006) with the Limestone District School Board; a loyal supporter and organizer in the basketball community; and an avid gardener. Mom was and will continue to be an inspiration to her family and to all the lives she has touched. She will always be remembered for her infectious sense of humour, adventurous spirit, and her loving devotion to her family. In keeping with Liz's wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at ROBERT J. REID & SONS FUNERAL HOME, “The Chapel on the Corner“, 309 Johnson Street (at Barrie Street) on Thursday, December 15, 2011 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held in the Gymnasium at Sydenham High School, on Friday, December 16, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Liz's memory to U. H. K. F. in support of St. Mary's of the Lake Hospital or the Cancer Centre of SE Ontario. 10876265

Dear Doug and family,

Our sincerest condolances to you and your children Doug. We are so sorry for your loss. We didn't have the opportunity to meet her but it is obvious she touched many people's lives. She will not be forgotten. RIP Elizabeth.

Liz was a wonderful teacher, great sense of humor and a lovely person all round. She taught both my children at First Avenue Public School and will always be remembered for her patience, kindness and her great sense of humor! Our deepest condolences on your loss!
