STIPSKY, Apolonie - Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at Bluewater Health Palliative Care on Monday, May 31, 2010, Apolonie Stipsky of Sarnia passed away at the age 94. Born in Zeraviny, Czech Republic, daughter of the late Jan and Marie Falesnik. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Stipsky (1992). Loving mother of Lillian (Frank) Durco, Helen Kozuch, Anne Rublik and Millie Geelen. Cherished grandmother of Dianne Lunn, Deborah Keane, Janet Cervi, Frank Durco Jr., Joseph Durco (deceased 2002), David Kozuch, Carolyn Borrelli, Michael Kozuch, Sharon Kozuch, Matthew Kozuch, Christine Kieran, Romuald Rublik, Gregory Rublik, Natalie Rublik, Mark Rublik, Melanie Balasin, Jeffrey Rublik, Stephanie Ouellette, Marlon Rublik, Kathleen Geelen-Cervi and Lisa Geelen. Treasured great-grandmother of Christina and Sandra Lunn, Nadine, Frank and Martina Cervi, Jenna, Rory and Daria Keane, Kraig and Kevin Durco, Erica Alt, Evan and Ryan Kozuch, Derek and Turner Balasin, Austin and Cole Rublik, Michael and Rose Rublik, Julia Rublik, Owen Ouellette, Cole Cervi, Anna and Thomas Poth. Predeceased by her sisters Marie Konecny, Antonia Korycan, Ruzena Mucka, Frantiska Machalek, and by brothers Jan and Josef. As a young bride of 18, Apolonie left her homeland to come to Canada where she farmed along side her husband in Kent County for 58 years. After being widowed, she lived in the farm home for another 9 years, then moved to Sarnia in 2001. She was also an active member of St. Anthony's Parish, Chatham and she attended Our Lady of Sorrows Church and Sacred Heart Parish in Sarnia. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, June 3, 2010, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Friday, June 4, 2010, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 4, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1465 Lecaron, Sarnia. Interment in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Chatham.
