Archie Van De Velde

VAN DE VELDE, Archie - 1951 - 2019 Mr. Archie Van De Velde of Delhi, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, February 2, 2019 in his 68th year, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Archie was a proud Member of the Delhi Belgian Club and a Member of the Delhi-LaSalette Knights of Columbus, Council #5095. He loved his mini vacations to Niagara Falls and regular Friday night dinners with his friends. He had fond memories of his years of farming and working at the warehouse. Archie adored his grandchildren. Beloved husband of Mary (Janssens) Van De Velde. Loving father of Stacey Powell and Shannon Barron (Geoff). Cherished grandfather of Aidan, Liam, Avery, and Alexis. Dearest brother of Joanne De Groote (John). Predeceased by his parents, Georgette (Duwyn, 2017) and Maurice Van De Velde (2005), and by his nephew, Michael Valcheff (1994). Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 for visitation on Friday from 4:00 to 7:30 p.m. and Parish Prayers at 7:30 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs Roman Catholic Church, Delhi on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr Alan Dufraimont officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Delhi Community Health Centre, Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs Roman Catholic Church Memorial Fund or the Delhi-LaSalette Knights of Columbus, Council #5095 will be gratefully appreciated by the family.13324650

So sorry to hear about Archie. We will miss him and his sense of humor. The “hood” won’t be the same without him!
