Edith Margot Gould

GOULD, Edith Margot - After a brief illness, Edith died at Bluewater Health, Palliative Care on Friday, February 1, 2019. Predeceased by husband James (1977), 2 siblings in Germany, and grandson Ryan Gould. Survived by her sister Juta in Germany. The mother of Brian (Judy Kanyuk) and Raymond (Monica Mallon) as well as grandchildren D. J., Jaime Morton (Collin), and Evan, all of Sarnia, Jason (Jenna Hick) and Connor (Rachel Opersko) all of London, as well as 2 great grandbabies to be born in the Spring. Edith was born in the Free City of Danzig. She was an RNA at the Sarnia General Hospital for many years. Edith was a true, tenacious survivor having lived through the trauma of World War 2 in Europe, immigration to Thunder Bay with 2 young sons in tow, and finally relocating to Sarnia. Her passions were family celebrations, devotion to her friends and winning at the Casino. Edith had a generous, giving spirit but she never tolerated anyone “playing the fool”. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Bluewater Health Foundation would be appreciated (cheques only at the funeral home please). Arrangements entrusted to SMITH FUNERAL HOME , 1576 London Line, Sarnia. Memories and condolences may be sent online at www.smithfuneralhome.ca13324641
