Marguerite Gervais

GERVAIS, Marguerite - 1918 - 2018 At Au Château, Sturgeon Falls, on Friday, December 28th, 2018, Marguerite Gervais (born Côté) died peacefully at the age of 100, beloved wife of the late Armand Gervais (1918-1981), daughter of the late Alyre Côté and of the late Victoria Goupil. Lovingly remembered by her son Jeannot (late Lorraine Perreault) of Sturgeon Falls, her daughter Lise Dutrisac (late Reginald) of Cornwall, her grandchildren: Carole (Norm Ethier), Marc Gervais, Ginette (Yvon Potvin), Gilles Dutrisac (Teresa), Kathy MacNeil (Kevin), and her great grandchildren: Stéphanie, Martin, Dominique, Véronique, Mérick, Steven, Marc, Sophie, Craig, Elizabeth. Predeceased by her granddaughter Joane Dutrisac Bazinet. She also leaves behind her sisters Dolorès Lacroix (late Damien) of Dupuy, QC, Jeanine Carreau (late Marcel) of Ottawa, a brother in law Andy Defoy of Ottawa, nephews, nieces as well as numerous parents and friends, a special mention of a dear friend Paulette Gingras. She is predeceased by her sisters, Armande Trottier (late Genest), Jeanne D'Arc Defoy (late Gerard Lapointe) and her brother Gaston Côté (late Albania). Marguerite was born in Sainte-Justine QC, she met Armand and raised her family in Normétal QC. The family moved to Sturgeon Falls, ON in 1955 to undertake the Restaurant/Gas Station called Totem Poll, which later became Armand Gervais Restaurant Ltd. with several apartments and businesses. Marguerite, Armand and their children Jeannot and Lise were known in the community of Sturgeon Falls to be the founders and the proud owners of Restaurant Gervais until the sale in 1975. Following the sale of the restaurant, Marguerite and Armand lived in Longueuil, QC for numerous years. After the passing of Armand, Marguerite lived in Cornwall, then she returned to Sturgeon Falls. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Life for Marguerite Gervais will take place in the spring of 2019. For further information please contact the Martyn Funeral Home in North Bay. If you wish, in memory of Marguerite, a donation may be made to the Alzheimers Society, Au Château, or a charity of your choice through the funeral home. The Family of Marguerite Gervais would like to thank all the staff of the 3rd floor at Au Château as well as the staff of the Long-Term Care Pavilion at the West Nipissing General Hospital for the excellent services and their compassion towards Marguerite. Cher Jeannot, Lise et sa famille, Carole, Marc, Ginette et vos enfants,

Que les plus beaux souvenirs avec votre Grand-Maman soient une belle source de réconfort. Mme Gervais faisait partie de la famille des Perreault et sa présence, sa compagnie étaient pour moi une belle partie de nos rencontres de famille. Je vous aime et je penses à vous tous.

la perte de nos parents, peu importe l’âge auquel ils nous quittent, est une épreuve douloureuse. Je garde un très bon souvenir de ma chère marraine.
