Alexander (Bill) Rowley

ROWLEY, Alexander (Bill) - Professional Engineer Horticulturist Hobby Farmer Bill Rowley, 86, of Strathroy, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2018. Bill was born in Whitby, Ontario and went on to attend Queen's University where met his wife Patricia. He graduated as a Professional Engineer and immediately started working for Allan Bradley in Milwaukee and later Galt. He enjoyed a full and challenging career with his later work at Dow Chemical, Sarnia and eventually retired from the University of Western Ontario, London. Along the way he raised a family just outside of Nairn, Ontario on a hobby farm that featured sheep but was also home to a wide variety of animals and lots of sweet corn. Bill always had a dog at his side, usually a Collie. He particularly treasured his last dog - Mully. He is survived by his children; Anne Verhallen (John), Harold (Vera), and Sandy (Carrie) and grandchildren; Cathleen Boekhoven (Clark), Josephine, Christine, Julia, Jacqueline, Madison, Noah, Ciera, Chloe and Mila Rose. Cremation has taken place. A private celebration of life with immediate family will honour his memory. A special thank you to the community and residents of Twin Elm Estates for their caring support. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital for their support in his final days. Memorial donations can be made to the Strathroy Caradoc Horticultural Society, Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital, St. Clair Conservation Authority or a charity of choice in memory of Bill.13316312
