GERVAIS, Jean-Louis - May 29th, 1943 - April 15th, 2018 It is with great sorrow that the Gervais family announce the passing of Jean-Louis on Sunday, the fifteenth of April, 2018 at the Lady Minto Hospital in Cochrane at the age of 74. He was predeceased by his parents Prevost and Gabrielle (nee Proulx) and nephew Marcel. He is survived by his loving wife Nadine and his three children Clarice, Celeste and Gregoire, grandchildren Angel, Greg, Sylvia, Luc, Denise, Jasmine, Dominic, Alena and Aria, great-grandchildren Ellie, Logan, Sasha, Nora and Damon. He will also be greatly missed by his siblings Arthur (Archie), Cecil Blackwell (Bill), Pauline Daguer (Rosaire), Madeleine Oosenburg (Charles), Rita Blackwell (Tommy), Gaetan, Dianne Proulx (Claude) and Rejeanne, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jean-Louis will be remembered for his many contributions to the Cochrane community and the positive influence he had on the many students in his care during his career as a teacher and principal. He will also be recalled as a fun loving and entertaining joker by his closest friends and his family. He was a loving husband and father who worked hard every day to support his family. Jean-Louis received a Jubilee medal from the queen for his essential work as Chair of the Cochrane Block Parents Association, a position he held for ten years. The Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday April 19th, 2018 at 2 pm at the Transfiguration Catholic Church followed by a reception at the Knights of Columbus Hall. The interment will take place at a later date at the Cochrane Catholic cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Lung Association and would be greatly appreciated.
