Allan Raymond Charge

CHARGE, Allan Raymond - After 100 years of love, family and creativity, Allan Raymond Charge, born December 14, 1917, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2018, having lived a wonderful life. At every moment surrounded by family. Predeceased by Irene Charge. Loving father of Trudie (Stewart McCowan) Nelson, Marlene Charge, Bonnie Charge and Randy (Christine) Charge. Cherished grandfather of Sterling Ferguson, Shane Marsh, Brett (Kendra) Marsh and Tiffany (Patrick) O'Neill. Al will be missed by his seven great grandchildren Kayla, Alyssa, Eden and Evan Marsh; Gage and Torin Marsh; and Nola O'Neill. Dear brother of Leah (Bill) Simmons. Al was a builder and land developer for much of Sarnia. He never met a dream he didn't accomplish - flying his own planes, skiing, driving a transport truck, moving his family as far as the Bahamas and Florida, Al was always on the next adventure. A dedicated Shriner, Al enjoyed raising funds to support the children's hospital. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at SMITH FUNERAL HOME , 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Friday, February 16, 2018, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., with a memorial service following at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shriners Hospital for Children - Canada or the Lambton Shrine Club (cheques only at the funeral home please). Hey Randy, My condolences. I remember your dad well, going with you up to his little bungalow near the lake, his yellow motorcycle and his caddie. Always liked your dad.

No one could put a smile on my face and give hugs like Al could ~ my most deepest sympathies to the Charge family ~ I am sure he is with dad up there whooping it up and causing chaos.

Learned today that Al has gone off to make life sunnier for others in his own inimtable style. A friend from 1965, we shared adventures that included flying, sailing, fishing, hiking, skiing, travelling and our young families as well as real estate adventures An honourable, trustworthy man I shall never forget nor meet such a man again. His book is a joy to read and a fitting tribute. He and Randy visited Lunenburg in 2009 and these are pics of that visit.
