Elsie May Breckenridge

BRECKENRIDGE, Elsie May - 1932 - 2017 It is with great sadness to announce the passing of our dear mother and grandmother. Elsie passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at the age of 85. She was the loving wife of the late Hugh Breckenridge, also devoted mother of Andrew Breckenridge and Anne Williamson. She was predeceased by her parents and siblings. Elsie was born in England. She came to Canada with her loving husband and family to live in Toronto. Later moving to Norwood and finally retiring to the town of Wellington. Elsie loved living an active life. Elsie was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion. She also enjoyed painting, sewing, playing cards and dancing. Elsie’s caring and hospitable personality would always ensure a great time whether it was for a dinner or just a cup of tea. Elsie had an artistic mind it was natural for her to create beautiful treasures, which she gave many to special events. Elsie was a seamstress and a painter. Elsie will be missed dearly. Elsie’s memory will always be cherished by her two grandsons, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The family would like to thank all the staff of Garden Terrace in Kanata for their dedication, care and professionalism in making Elsie’s stay pleasant and comfortable. Cremation has taken place with inurnment and a private ceremony in England at a later date. Elsie was a little sweetheart. Always charming to chat with. I remember when my dad, John Kasaboski, became a Colour Bearer for the Legion, she and Hugh gave him a uniform blazer to wear. That was Elsie and Hughie...good hearted and good natured.
