Donna Carol Mymryk

MYMRYK, Donna Carol - Passed away at McNally House Hospice in Grimsby on January 8, 2018 at the age of 78. Loved mother of Jennifer Warrington (Vaughn); Joe Mymryk (Virginia); and Boris Calderon (Wanda). Cherished grandmother of Connor Warrington; Chantal, Austin and Karissa Mymryk; and surrogate grandmother to Kate and Laura Bailey. Loving great-grandmother of Ryder and Victoria Warrington. Dear sister of twin brother Donald Dickens (Donna). Predeceased by her loving parents Jennie Beatson and Joseph Dickens. Predeceased by former spouse Stanley Mymryk. Much loved aunt to many nieces and nephews and kind friend to a multitude of cousins. Donna had a wonderful career as a kindergarten school teacher at Martha Cullimore Public School giving hundreds of students that first important step into formal education. She impacted and touched the lives of many with her kindness and thoughtfulness. Donna was a long time parishioner and volunteer with the St. John's Stevensville United Church. She was an avid quilter finishing her final cherished family heirloom for her great-grandson Ryder just before Christmas. In recent years she donated one of her beautiful quilts (purple tulips) to West Lincoln Hospital Auxiliary to raise funds for much needed hospital equipment and she has assisted in making numerous quilts for veterans through Quilts of Valour. Special thanks to the staff of the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital, West Niagara Palliative Care Team, McNally House Hospice, Dr. Denise Marshall and her family physician, Dr. Cari Reed. A celebration of Donna's life will be held in the spring, as per her wishes as she did not want anyone to have to travel during snow season. If desired, memorial contributions to McNally House Hospice would be sincerely appreciated by the family. Please plant a tree or flowers in the spring in memory of a loved one as Donna loved her gardens and flowers!13243373

Please accept my most sincere sympathy at the recent passing of Donna. I first met Donna in 1966 when we were classmates at St Catharines' Teachers' College and then reconnected when we both taught at Martha Cullimore. Donna touched the lives of hundreds and was dedicated to her family. May you always cherish your memories.

Extended to the Mymryk Family, on the loss of a dear Mom, Mother-in-law, grandma, friend. Our son Bill cut the lawn for Donna and Mrs Beatson, for the longest time, and then handed the job over to his Hayslip cousins. What a wonderful person Donna was , always saw her with a smile. Bob & Gloria.
