HICKS, William James "Bill" - Peacefully at home, on Monday, January 8, 2018 at 77 years of age. Devoted husband of the late Ann Kathryn (nee Dodington) (January 28, 2016) for 51 years. Loving Dad of Derek and his wife Patti. Cherished Grandpa of Rachael and Andrew. Dear brother of Judy (Bob) Cooney, Dennis (Jan) Hicks, Leanne (Bill) Doyle, Linda (Mark) McGlynn, Randy (Linda) Hicks the late Nancy (Glen) Seburn; brother-In-law of David (Donna) Dodington, Walter Dodington and the late Karen "Kai" (Vince) Brady. Uncle Bill will be missed by his many nieces, nephews and their families. His beloved companion Darby is greatly missing both Ann & Bill. A Celebration Of Bill's Life will take place from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Grantham Lions Hall, 732 Niagara Street. Memorial donations to Walker Family Cancer Centre would be appreciated. Will miss Bill

It was a daily routine, watching Bill and Darby, walk past our house. Bill often stopped and Darby would snuggle his head between your legs. We will greatly miss Bill. May he rest in peace.

I was a bit younger than Bill and on occasion I was called up to play with the Merritton junior ball club.Bill was the catcher and taught me the way to handle myself among the older guys and made me feel at home. My condolences to Derek and the family on the loss of a great guy
