BAARSCHERS, Shannon Louise - "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise." Shannon Louise Baarschers has taken her place in paradise. Hallelujah! Survived by her devoted husband Bill; daughter Alana (Jeff & Kayden Hayes); son Dustin (Lauren & Jace, Ainsley and Blake); mother Julia Core; sister/best friend Tracy Perron (Yvon); special nephew Leith Perron (Hayley & Gwen); aunts/uncles Merv Mothersell (Janice), Pat & David Armstrong; mother-in-law Alice Baarschers; brothers-in-law George (June, Janet & Kenny), Ed (Deb, Bill, David, Dawn), Jeff (Lynn, Danielle, Brett, Janessa) Baarschers; Predeceased by her father "Bill-Bub" Core, special aunt Maxine Core. Father-in-law George Baarschers, Brother-in-law Jan Baarschers (Judy). Shannon worked with children during her entire career. She was a member of Dunlop United Church where she actively participated on the Pastoral Care and the Prayer Team. Thank you to the following people for their support during Shannon's brief but difficult battle with mesothelioma: Dr. Sean Peterson and staff; Dr. Crombeen and St. Joseph's Hospice Staff; Dunlop United Church Family; A special thanks to Reverend Adam Kilner for his spiritual support, friendship and love. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at SMITH FUNERAL HOME , 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Smith Funeral Home, on Thursday, January 11, 2018, at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Dunlop United Church Pastoral Care or St. Joseph's Hospice. Our deepest and sincere sympathy to the Baarschers and Core families for your loss. Shannon was a childhood neighbour (and my first babysitting job). I will always remember her beautiful smile and very friendly way. Thinking of you.
