Stephen Apps

APPS, Stephen - (Dec. 9, 1959 - Sept. 9, 2017) On Saturday September 9th, 2017 at the age of 57 (although he would say 56), Stephen made his final transition. A spirited individual with a larger than life presence passed suddenly, leaving us all too soon. Steve was a tenacious soul who brought enthusiasm, OPINION and merriment to everything he did. He was a dedicated man who never did anything half way. He leaves behind his soul mate, devoted wife and best friend Agnes (Flutur); his daughters Stephanie Edmonds (Danny), Rebecca, and Melanie Pallotta (Phil), his step children Nicola & Thomas Conte and his furry companions (Eddie, Blu & Molly). He was a proud grandfather to Luca & Chloe Pallotta; a loving son to Leonard and Louise Apps and brother to Catharine (Phil) of Richmond, BC. Steve enjoyed a successful career of 35 years in mobile engineering applications with Bosch Rexroth Canada where he was well regarded internationally in the Hydraulics Industry. An avid athlete, Steve played many sports throughout his lifetime and developed a love for Triathlons in his later years. Though he participated in many events his biggest accomplishments included the "Escape to Alactraz Triathlon", the Strong Kids Fundraiser 10km Swim and being a founding Member & President of the TryForce Triathlon Club St. Catharines. Family and friends are invited to honour Stephen at a Celebration of Life, on Friday, September 15th, at Coppola's Ristorante and Banquet Facility at 203 Carlton Street in St. Catharines, from 2:30 until 6:30 pm, with eulogy commencing at 3 pm. On Stephen's behalf, his family would like to extend a very warm thank you to all those who tended to his care and aftercare following his sudden passing. From the paramedics, doctors and nurses who tended to Stephen's direct care, as well as all of the family and friends that have been there for support during this difficult time. As Stephen would have wanted, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made online to Beamsville 4 Paws Animal Rescue Foundation.13209254

Thinking of you

Dearest Agnes and Family,

We were utterly dismayed to learn of Steve's passing. He was so full of life and a joyful presence for all who met him. We thought of our time in Maui 2 years ago and how much love, kindness and care he showed you and all our WLA members. We felt blessed to share time with both of you.

There are few words at times like these that can ease the sorrow, but we wanted to let you know we are thinking of you and sending you love.

With all our love,

Quinn, Andy & Marcus

I am so saddened to hear this sad news! Steve was at first my softball coach many years ago and then became a friend! I would see Steve st the YMCA and we would catch up from time to time and it was like to time had passed since our last meeting! He was always energetic and fun and loved life! My condolences to his family. I will always think of him with a smile and with fond memories! RIP Steve you will be missed!
