Beverly COOK

It is with great sadness that the family of Bev Kennedy Cook of Chandler, AZ announces her passing on Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at the age of 78. Bev was a wonderful woman that was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished. Our "Nana," as called by her grandchildren, was an amazing wife, mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. Bev was born in Peterborough, Ontario Canada. Bev and her sister Margaret were adopted by Tom and Elsie Kennedy of Brantford Ontario. Later in life she was reunited with her eldest sister Marleen. Bev attended BCI & VS and was working at a radio station when she met her future husband Jack. Bev married her best friend Jack in 1961. The couple moved to the United States where they welcomed two sons, Shawn and Scott. Bev's children remember her as a kind and gentle mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals. Bev held a variety of jobs and volunteered for numerous organizations. Retired, but not one to slow down, Bev was an accomplished mahjong player, passionate women's club member (GFWC Florida) and dedicated to several other endeavors. Bev will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 56 years, Jack; her son Shawn (Lisa); her son, Scott (Debbie); her sister, Margaret (Jerry); three granddaughters, Courtney, Brittney and Kasey; and one great-grandson, Duke. Bev was predeceased by her sister Marleen. Friends and family are invited to attend and celebrate Bev's life September 15th between the hours of 10:30-1:00 at Shawn's house. A Prayer service followed by interment will be held at the National Cemetery, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024 between the hours of 2:30-3:00. The family is grateful for the condolences.
