William "Bill" Holt

HOLT, William "Bill" - Of Caressant Care Home, Bonnie Pl., St. Thomas passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 31st, 2017 at his late residence in his 86th year. Beloved husband and best friend of 62 years of the late Mary Eleanor (Thompson) Holt (2014) and loved father of Bob and his wife Judy Holt of St. Thomas, Al and his wife Anne Holt of Talbotville and Dave and his wife Sandy Holt of St Thomas. Predeceased by an infant daughter Linda Marie Holt. Loved grandfather of Jay (Stephanie), Stephanie (Andrew), Craig, Evin and Travis and great grandfather of Dalton and Adam. Special friend to Ida Mae Johnston. He was born in St. Thomas on April 13, 1932, the son of the late Augustus and Mary Ann (Herbert) Holt. Bill was a retired teacher with the Thames Valley School Board (A.V.S.S. and P.C.I.) and also was an electrician. He was a long time Optimist with the St. Thomas Optimist Club and formerly with the Kinsman Club. He was a member of the Locke Community Fair for many years. He enjoyed antique cars and loved his dogs. Bill was always involved in events and committees that made our Community better. Resting at WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas where funeral service will be held Monday at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow in Elmdale Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Children Optimist Foundation.13179878

Just found out about your loss. Your father was a great friend of my parents...Dick and Shirley. I remember all the parties and picnics we had with your family through the years. May you find peace in your memories.

Bob, sorry to hear about the loss of your Dad. Your mum and dad were always lots of fun when we were kids.

He was also a great teacher at AVSS.
