Cheryl (Van Tassel) Jermyn

JERMYN, Cheryl (Van Tassel) - Of St. Thomas passed away peacefully at her late residence on Friday, December 16, 2016, in her 59th year. Beloved wife and best friend of the late Edward "Ed" James Jermyn (2012). Dearly loved daughter of the late Violet and late William "Bill" Van Tassel and sister of Diane Van Tassel (Mark). Daughter-in-law of Jean (Simpson) and late Gerald "Bud" Jermyn. Sister-in-law of Patrick "Pat" Jermyn (Marlene) and aunt of Danny. She will be lovingly remembered by several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Cheryl was born in London, ON on May 3, 1958. For almost 40 years Cheryl worked in various clerical capacities at the Southwest Community Access Centre. Cheryl was a long-time member of the St. Thomas Curling Club where she acted as a Board Member and was instrumental in the Little Rock Curling Program. She was a Level One Official and Junior Coach. Cheryl was also a member of the St. Thomas Horticulture Society. Cheryl's interests included the V.O.N Auction for the Palliative Care Program. She was also an active volunteer with the St. Thomas Iron Horse Festive and participated in the Mayor's Task Force from 2004-2006. Funeral services to celebrate Cheryl's life will be held at WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME , 45 Elgin Street, St. Thomas on Monday at 11:00am. Cremation to follow, with scattering of ashes in the Old St. Thomas Churchyard Scattering Garden. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4pm. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to St. Thomas-Elgin V.O.N, Animal Aide or you may donate hats, mittens or scarves to Grace Café, St. Thomas. 13127017

Condolences to Cheryl's family and her many friends. I attended Fanshawe College with Cheryl. She was already an amazing woman then; so strong, confident, positive, generous and thoughtful. She was a beautiful person inside and out, and I will never forget her.
