Remembering the DeVebers
Posted by John Goossens (Childcan fund raiser) On Friday, June 21, 2019
I learned about Dr. Barrie and his wife Iola through a friend of mine Bob Thibert and helped with Bob's fund raising efforts for Childcan which was founded by Dr. Barrie DeVeber and parent David Cohen. Both Dr. DeVeber and his wife Iola will be remembered for their ongoing support of this very worthy cause.

We were so sad to hear of Iola's passing when Danny called us last Friday. She meant so much to Mom, they had some crazy times, pure joy & love. Bill & I truly enjoyed the visits when Barrie & Iola came out to the farm. Sending hugs.

I am so sorry to hear this news. I just saw Eileen last week for the first time in about 35 years... it was so nice to reconnect. My condolences to the entire family. I have fond memories of chatting with Mrs. deVeber while she sat in her big bamboo chair! She taught me to sweep the kitchen floor after every meal - a lesson I never forgot!

Take care,

Jenny (Fenwick) Irwin
