NEILSON, Janeta (Jay) - Jay accomplished all that she wanted before cancer took her on June 30th, 2013. An Algonquin Rhapsody photo-paddler, Jay is remembered for her joy of all season camping and canoeing in Algonquin Park and the Canadian north. She also enjoyed a variety of other outdoor activities. Predeceased by her parents Isobel (nee Logan) and Anthony Neilson, grandparents Sir Marston and Lady Jenny Logan and (Sir) William and Ethel Neilson, Jay is survived by her loving husband Frank Knaapen. She will be missed by her sisters Victoria Cervi (Pascal), Caroline and brother Charles (Leila), special cousin Kathryn Neilson, nephews Nicola, Danielle, Marcus, Valerio, Patrizio, Jack, Fred, Riley and niece Mia. The family would like to give a special 'thank you' to the many friends of Jay; Dr. S. Clouthier and staff at the Petawawa Health Centre; and the staff from the Hospice Renfrew, who made her life a comfort and her passing peaceful. There will be a service and burial at St. James' Church, 642 Main Road, Hudson, Quebec, at 11:00 a.m. on July 20, 2013.
