GLEN MICKELSON WHITEY Mickelson- Glen passed away peacefully at the Anishnabe Long Term Care Centre in Notre Dame du Nord on Tuesday June 26th at the age of 64. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Bertha Mickelson and his brother Arnold. He will be sadly missed by his daughter Lorrie and her husband Terry Pederson of New Liskeard, his son Randy and his wife Yvonne of Arnprior, his former wife Betty Ann Drew Welsby, his grandchildren Timothy, Joshua and Eden, his cousin Gunnell Klodt and her husband Morley of Burlington, his cousin Ralph Backstrom and his wife Janet of Colorado, his cousin Roy Backstrom and his wife Norma of Kirkland Lake, his cousin Kim and her husband Lance Mackenzie of Timmins and his Aunt Aili Mickelson of Kirkland Lake. He will be fondly remembered by his dear friend Kenny Newman and many friends from Kirkland Lake. Glen was born and raised in Kirkland Lake. He attended KLCVI and went on to work for Ontario Hydro for many years. He was the owner and operator of the popular Glens Chips The White Chip Truck until his retirement. Glen will be remembered by many for his wonderful athletic ability, most notably his hockey prowess, playing many years in Kirkland Lake then going on to play for a year at Michigan Tech. Upon retirement, Glen loved to walk and to meet his friends for coffee, to play the stock market, to take the occasional trip to Cuba and to travel to visit his son and daughter. A gathering of friends and family to commemorate Glen will be held at the Encore Club in Kirkland Lake 30 Second Street on Saturday July 19th at 11:30 am. Donations to the Northdale Manor Building Fund Box 370, New Liskeard will be gratefully acknowledged.0
