Ruth Louise (Dennis) Chisnell

CHISNELL, Ruth Louise (Dennis) - 82 Years Young, born on June 16, 1930, passed away February 12, 2013 at Health Sciences North. Beloved wife of Barry Chisnell predeceased Feb.1998. Loving mother of Judy Zarubick (Jim), Dennis Chisnell, Linda Loiselle (Jim) and Sandra Armstrong (Al). Cherished grandmother of Barry (Quinn), Jennifer (Grahame), Joseph (Deirdra), Jason and Amanda. Great- grandmother of Grayson. Dear daughter of George & May Dennis, sister of Ed & Doris Dennis, George Dennis and Gordon Dennis. Dear sister-in-law of Jean & Bert Chisnell (All predeceased). Sadly missed by many loving nieces and nephews. She was a domestic engineer, an avid competitive curler with the Idylwylde Golf & Country Club. She was a member of the I.O.D.E. and of the Red Hat Strawberry Swirls. She loved to try & play golf, travel south in the winter, tole paint and knit on her knitting machines. She also loved to play bridge with her best friends, garden and spend her summers on Island #2434 near Birch Island and she enjoyed her white wine. As per her request, to celebrate her happy and long life, family will greet friends at Grumblers Rib Room on 1629 Regent St. Friday February 15, 2013 from 4 - 8 pm. If desired, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke foundation thru LOUGHEED'S FUNERAL HOME. Farewell to Ruth

Knowing Ruth was to know limitless energy and a dynamic that was fueled by her ability to lead by example. Countless children experienced the camp where the food was plentiful and the cabins clean. Ruth was always there and often missed events because of her dedication to her 'duties'. Many people demand respect and it eludes them but Ruth earned her respect and it was armour plated. Ruth was a true family person, but she also affected the rest of us in ways that will remain foreever.

I will always remember Ruth fondly, as will my daughters Erin and Jodi. We had great times at the Chisnell camp. There was never a dull moment and always what seemed like a hundred kids under foot! Ruth took it all in her stride. Island 2434 will never be the same.

Our prayer our with you Sandra,Linda and Dennis. John and I have great memories of aunt Ruth.She brought live into a room when she entered it.
