ZBOCH, Jerry - Jerry Zboch passed away on November 7, 2012, at 55 years of age, after a courageous battle with cancer. Gerald Sheldon Zboch was born November 8, 1957. Jerry relocated to the North Bay area from Montreal, over 30 years ago. Jerry was a kind man, a gifted artist and musician, whose good-natured love of life and famous humour brought joy to all who knew him. During his illness, Jerry's many friends, from every decade of his life, came to visit him and called him, to play music for him and to express their gratitude to Jerry for his having touched their lives in very significant ways. During these visits and telephone conversations, cherished memories and many laughs were relived and Jerry experienced joy. Jerry was so very grateful for the many kind acts, loving thoughts, and prayers he received. Jerry will be missed by his mother Marilyn Haggart, father Chester Zboch, and brother Christian Zboch, all of Montreal. He is predeceased by his beloved “little brother“ Kevin. Jerry will be sadly missed and always loved by his long-time companion and best friend, Mary Laronde of North Bay. Mary and Jerry's family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to community nurse, Sandra Sargeant, and Dr. Andre Hasspieler for their kindness and care. Thank you also to the nursing staff at the North Bay Regional Hospital and the doctors and nurses at the Northeastern Ontario Cancer Centre. And to all our friends and family, who supported us all along this journey with loving, positive energy and prayers, Miigwetch. Merci. Thank you. To give thanks for Jerry's life and to help him along on his Spirit Journey, a Ceremony of Thanksgiving and Celebration of Life will be conducted by Dot Beaucage Kennedy at Mary and Jerry's home on Saturday, November 10 at 10 AM. Richard Menard will eulogize his old friend, John O'Sullivan will keep the fire burning and Laura Liberty will sing the Travelling Song as we say farewell to a truly unique and wonderful man. A private service and interment will take place in Montreal. At Jerry's request, there will be a backyard music memorial, “Jammin with Jerry“, in the spring. “Loneliness is a state of feeling, whereas aloneness is a state of being — like the difference between bein' broke and bein' poor.“ Townes Van Zandt 12099928

I remember Jerry from working at the Empire Hotel and he always was willing to help anyone. Sorry I didn't know he was still around or I would have kept up the friendship. He will be at peace now and not in pain. Thanks for the memories though.

I am so very sorry to hear the news of Jerry's passing. I always remember him from his high school days with my son John, he was such a kind young man coming for visits several times to our home in Pierrefonds. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
