LANG, Leonard Benno - Accidentally, while working the land he loved on his Trout Creek farm on Tuesday, October 9, 2012. He was in his 89th year. Leonard was the beloved husband of Leona (Mechefske) of Trout Creek; Father of Judy Allen (Ralph) of Sundridge, Ann Oshell (Doug) of Powassan, Allan (Bernadette) of North Bay, Mike (Bonita Peters) of Trout Creek, Debbie McMartin (Robin Brooks) of Edmonton, AB, Laurie Pritchard (Peter Gumbrell) of Orillia, Jeff (Penny-Ann) of Callander, Ted (Kim) of Oshawa, Tom (Nicole Gagnon) of Trout Creek and Rose (Doug Wieler) of Newmarket; Grandfather of 23 (one predeceased) and 22 great-grandchildren. Leonard was the dear brother of Noreen Hummel (the late Carl) of Powassan, Barb Mogridge (the late Keith) of Powassan and Jeanette Eckensviller (Jack) of North Bay and was predeceased by his siblings Edwin (the late Esther), Edna Lang, Cliff Long (survived by wife Gladys of Powassan), Marg Mechefske (survived by husband Ken of Trout Creek), Gord (survived by wife Joan of London), Eldon and Bob (survived by wife Noreen of North Bay). Leonard was a dedicated school principal for 35 years and very active in his community. Devoted to family and God, Leonard was most happy spending time on his 100 acre hobby farm. The Lang family will receive visitors at Sacred Heart Church, Trout Creek, on Friday, October 12, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Evening Prayers at 8:45 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church on Saturday, October 13 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to Sacred Heart Church are suggested.
