Lindley Erlan Bassarath

BASSARATH, Lindley Erlan - Dr. Lindley Bassarath, son of Esmond and Rosslyn Bassarath, died suddenly on Wednesday April 4, 2012 at the age of 47. Lindley was a loving and devoted father, husband and family man. He is survived by family, friends, and colleagues who loved him dearly. In addition to being an exceptional father and family man, Lindley was a child and youth psychiatrist at CAMH Hospital in Toronto, Ontario. He was born in Trinidad, West Indies but grew up in Kirkland Lake Ontario where he excelled academically and athletically. Those who knew Lindley knew he was known for his kind and gentle nature, incredible intelligence, sense of humour and love of his family, food and Star Trek. His loss is deeply felt. A private service was held at St. John's Norway on April 9, 2012. The family would ask that in lieu of flowers any donations be made to CAMH Foundation in his memory at www.supportcamh.ca under Donate Now. I was so sad to hear of this....there are no words to tell you how sorry I am this has happened. Lindley and I spent many years on Students council together and he is everything you said he was..kind, gentle, very smart and had a great sense of humour. My heart goes out to you and your family.

I am so very sorry to hear of Lindley's passing. I remember him in high school and always liked him. He was so sweet, intelligent and smart, although I still could confuse him when he tutored me in math. I guess my brain was not quite up to the level that his was. It is a true shame that he is taken so young. I just wish to pass along my condolences to the family during this very difficult time.
