SCULLY, Basil "Bas" Died Monday, November 11, 2002 at the age of 85 years. Basil was born in Little Current, Ontario on December 17, 1916 and spent his early years in Little Current and Sudbury. As a young man, he worked as a radio broadcaster in Fort William and Sault Ste. Marie, before moving back to Sudbury in 1953, where he worked in radio and then as a broadcaster for CKSO Television. In 1965, he became the first Director of Northern Programs for the Addiction Research Foundation. He was very interested in politics, and ran as a candidate both Federally and Provincially. In his spare time, Bas loved music, carpenty, and mechanics. He was also a prolific writer of "letters to the editor", and published an entertaining book of memoirs. Beloved son of Patrick Scully and Eva Fraser both predeceased. Cherished husband of Dorothea nee Greening predeceased September 21, 2002. Sadly missed by daughters Sheila Ethier and Brenda Laframboise husband Alan, nephew Lawrence Greening wife Doris and sister Joan Asselin husband Omer. Dear grandfather of James fiancee Marie, Alyson, Jonathan and Rosalyn. Resting at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury. Funeral Mass in St. Patricks Church, 39 Walford Road, Sudbury Thursday, November 14, 2002 at 10 am. Interment in the Civic Cemetery, Sudbury. Prayers 7:30 pm Wednesday. Donations to Network North or charity of your choice would be appreciated. Friends may call 2-5 and 7-9 pm Wednesday. 0
