VANBESIEN, Gustaf Joseph - Passed away, peacefully, at the Delrose Retirement Residence, Delhi, Ont., on Tuesday, May 24th, 2011, Gustaf Joseph Vanbesien, formerly of Langton, in his 95th year. Born in Torhout, W.F., Belgium, November 19th, 1916, son of the late Charles Vanbesien and the late former Pharilde (Brouckaert) Vanbesien. Gustaf was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Langton. He retired from tobacco farming in 1973 and was a former member of the Langton Pigeon Club. Predeceased by his wife Madeleine (Vansevenant) Vanbesien (August 16th, 2008). Dear father of Charles Vanbesien, Burford and Mary; Willy and Rose Marie Vanbesien, R.R.1, LaSalette; Lillian and John Keirsebilck, LaSalette; Crisona Rosehart and Jim Czerlau, Tillsonburg; Marius and Mary-Anne Vanbesien, Langton; Ronald and Debra Vanbesien, Straffordville. Proud grandfather of fifteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. Survived by a sister-in-law Simone Vanbesien of Simcoe. Predeceased by a son Donald Vanbesien (1965); two grandsons Wayne (1966) and Dan (2002); and a granddaughter Donna (1985). Resting at the VERHOEVE FUNERAL HOME , 40 Queen Street, Langton, where a Private Family Funeral Liturgy Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday, May 27th, 2011, by Rev. Fr. Maurice Charbonneau. Interment to follow in the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery. Public visitation will be held Thursday, 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Parish Prayers will be Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. Memorial donations (payable by cheque only) to the charity of your choice can be arranged through the Verhoeve Funeral Home (519-875-4464)10153460
