Thomas Edward MARION

THOMAS EDWARD (TED) MARION Passed away at his residence at Round Lake, Ontario in his 78th year. Loving husband of 52 years to Kathryn (nee Liddle), and much loved father of Elaine Neigel (Wade), Elizabeth Sidor (CJ), and Barbara Galt (Michael). Beloved ?Boppa? of Bryan, Michele, Lydia, Robert and Andrew. Survived by his only brother John (Annmarie) of Etobicoke. Ted was born and raised in Montreal. He spent all his holidays as a child with his maternal grandparents, Tom and Annie Boland, in Killaloe, where he developed his love for the area. He joined the Canadian Provost Corps in 1957 and he and Kathy were married in Ripley in 1958. As a Peacekeeper in the Canadian Armed Forces, Ted's career took him and his family across Canada and to Europe on many postings, including Cyprus in 1965. In 1978, he received the Canadian Forces Europe Commendation in recognition of distinguished accomplishments and meritorious service. He and Kathy raised their three girls together and he was very proud of each of them. Ted was a Past Master of Bonnechere Lodge #433 AFAM, and it was with great pride that he received recognition for 50 years of active membership from his Masonic Brethren at his home in October 2010. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 406 where he served as a member of the executive for a number of years. His passion for Round Lake and his love of fishing, friends and family filled his retirement years with joy. He will be greatly missed by those he loved and who loved him so dearly. The family is deeply grateful for all who visited Ted at home especially the Reverend Susan Clifford with whom he enjoyed many lively discussions. As was his wish, he passed away peacefully at his home on October 29, 2010. A Masonic service was held at the Zummach Funeral Home on Monday November 1st with Funeral Service of Christian Burial at the Church of the Ascension/St. John's in Killaloe, Ontario on Tuesday November 2nd, 2010. Burial took place at St. John's Union Cemetery, Tramore. Pallbearers were Bill Cooke, Andy Clark, Rob and Tom Martin, Paul and Charles Merredew, and Sandy and Rob Liddle. The family wishes to sincerely thank the kind people at the Zummach Funeral Home as well as all those who participated in the service. 9623721
