A great teacher and friend

One of the rare few who had a great intellect AND care and compassion for fellow humans. You encouraged students to be their best and really strive. You were smart, funny, really well-read, interesting, curious and, not least, very kind. You had a great impact on my life and for that I am very grateful.

I have so many good memories of Barbara from my two years of journalism. One of the fondest is the night another classmate and I ended up sleeping at Barbara's after an evening of laughter and gin and tonics. If heaven needs an excellent editor, it now has one!

A Most Wonderful Lady

To all Mrs. Blue's children, my friends, I extend my most heartfelt condolences. Your mother was the greatest lady I have ever met, next to my mother. Class, looks, humour, style: she had it all. I have thought of her often, over the years, and will continue to do so. R.I.P. Barbara: you will be greatly missed.
