Anne Lauchlan Stoddart

STODDART, Anne Lauchlan - Anne chose the time to end her life journey at home on Monday, February 11th, 2019 in Victoria, B.C. surrounded by her family. She leaves behind her husband of 63 years, Sandy (Alec), two sons, Andrew and Mark, and daughter-in-law, Ying-Yi, her grandchildren Faith, Ish, and Sasha, and her nieces Catherine, Gail, Jill, Fiona, and Kate. Anne was born in Glascow, Scotland on November the 12th, 1934, the eldest of three sisters (Margaret and Renee). She worked for the Ministry of Labor until 1957, when she came to Sarnia, Ontario, to marry her highschool sweetheart, Sandy, and start their life together. The family enjoyed summer road trip holidays and a highlight was a five year trip to Antwerp, Belgium, exploiting all the gems of Europe. After her husband retired from Polysar as a mechanical engineer, they moved to Victoria, British Columbia after many summer visits. Anne loved every day, even the wet ones. (If you ask her, it never snowed in Victoria!) Anne was a true lady. Anne loved making new friends. She loved welcoming people to her home and entertaining them with endless food and drink. She was a member of the Chancel Guild at Canon Davis Church in Sarnia. She kept in touch with old friends in Sarnia, especially Margot Tont, who she spoke to nearly every day. Farewell, Princess Anne! 13329967

A Lovely Lady
Posted by Sarah (Johnson) Earles (friend of Andrew's) On Thursday, April 25, 2019
Dear Andrew, I am so terribly sorry for the loss of your Mum. I remember her as a lovely lady when we were dating. She and your Dad said hello when we shared a flight to Montreal some time ago and reminisced. I hope you are all well. Be good to yourself as you grieve, it does get easier and the good memories surface faster eventually.

Alec, Mark and Andrew

I was sorry to hear of Anne’s passing. She was a wonderful lady. I have such fond memories of visiting your house after church or on Christmas Eve. She and Alec were such great hosts to some of my out of town bridesmaids when John and I were married. Such fun they had and still remember having breakfast around your table and getting ready for the wedding. Thinking of you these past weeks. Sending hugs. Heather
