George had me foisted upon him by Ken Ridge in 1981. He was my first Ontario based department head, my having taught abroad before. I found him to be an excellent leader, and mentor and for this I most grateful. Having in subsequent years taught David and Gord and then having taught with and then had Gord as my department head the connections through George making his positive impact on my life even more profound.

George was the person who hired me for my first teaching post at G. L. Roberts C.&V.I. Great mentor, great sense of humour, super guy. I especially remember the summer canoe trips with George. The world has lost a great person. Condolences to the family. Jim

I was part of George's original science staff at G.L.Roberts oh so many years ago. George was a great boss, a wonderful mentor and I will never forget his 6 foot slide rule. I have many fond memories of my 12 years working with George. He will be fondly remembered by all of us.
