David Kenneth “Disco” Johnstone

JOHNSTONE, David Kenneth “Disco” - Of St. Thomas, passed away peacefully, on Sunday, December 30th, 2018, at his residence, at the age of 54. Dearly loved son of Janet (Esseltine) and Robert Johnstone. Dear brother of Margaret, Cathy and Rob (Sherry). Sadly missed by a number of nieces and nephews and special friends Courtnee, Tasha and Ron. Dave was born in London on October 28, 1964. He worked as a time and score keeper for over 30 years at the Port Stanley Arena and was involved with minor sports most of his life. He also worked at a score keeper for the Shedden Fastball League. Earlier in his life he was passionate about roller skating and that’s where he got the nickname “Disco”. The family will receive friends at WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME , 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas on Saturday, January 5th from 2:30-3:30 p.m. A celebration of David’s life will be held at the funeral home at 3:30 p.m. Cremation has taken place with private interment in Union Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to Port Stanley Minor Hockey. “Keep your stick on the ice!”13319530

I grew up with Dave. He is one of the best. A wonderful guy who treated people good. Always a gentleman. I am sorry to hear he had passed on so soon. My condolences to Courtnee, Tasha, Ron and his family.

Rest in peace disco dave I will always remember how u taught some of us kids how to have fun roller skating back in the 1980s I will always remember u dancing on your skates either on the rink or on the road rest in peace my friend
