Pauline McInnis

McINNIS, Pauline - Pauline died peacefully at Pinecrest Home in Kenora on Sunday, December 9, 2018 in her 86th year. Pauline was the first born child to Ada and Joe McInnis followed by sisters Gail, Pat and brother Joe. Pauline graduated from Kenora High School and received her nursing degree, B.Sc.N., from Hamilton General Hospital in 1955. She spent her working years, which she loved, at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary as Head Nurse. Upon retiring Pauline returned to her beloved Longbow Lake to the home she had built. Pauline is survived by her sister Gail Power and her children Joe, Paul, Mike, Kyle and her brother Joe McInnis and his children Anthony and Jonathan. Pauline will be remembered for her kindness and generosity. Pauline's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Len and Joyce Blyth who were a big part of her life and were family to her. Thank you also to Mary Van Walleghem for her friendship and to all the staff at Pinecrest Home for the care Pauline received at their hands during her stay there. A memorial service to honour and celebrate Pauline's life will be held at Longbow Lake, summer 2019. 13316635

My Heartfelt Sympathy to Gail, Joe and Family
Posted by Jo-Ann Dugggan (Longbow Lake Friend) On Saturday, December 22, 2018
My thoughts and prayers accompany you in this time of Pauline's passage to her eternal resting home with her family members and friends of Longbow Lake. I was always so grateful for our "chatting times" when I visited Pauline at the Lake. Mum and Dad so appreciated Pauline's constant care and concern for the people who made their home on Primmer's Road. Pauline's spirit has left a legacy of love for Longbow Lake. I do hope to be at home this summer for the service. Sr. Jo-Ann

I lived on both sides of Pauline at Longbow Lk, once when I had Tuesday's Resort ( when I first met her ) and later when I moved to Memory Lane.

What a wonderful friend and neighbour. I will always remember her for her kindness and independence

Our sincere condolences to Pauline's family. I met Pauline when my parents Barb and Bob Sandercock moved into the property next door to her place. Whenever I visited my parents I would go and have tea with Pauline after her early morning swim in the cold waters of Longbow Lake. She was a good friend to my mom and a great neighbor to my Dad after mom's passing. She was a very sweet lady.
