Mark Stratychuk

STRATYCHUK, Mark - Peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on November 29, 2018, at Bluewater Health Palliative Care, Mark Stratychuk passed away at the age of 85. He has now happily reunited with the love of his life and soul mate Doreen Stratychuk (2018). Loving father of Katherine (Doug) Vandersluis, Paul (Brenda) Stratychuk and Donnia (Peter) Schlaff. Treasured grandfather of Kyle (Shelby) and Sean Vandersluis, Jason (Sarah) and Craig Stratychuk and Jerome Schlaff. Predeceased by his parents John and Jean Stratychuk and sister Nadia Marshall. Mark, also known as Speedy, was hard-working, dedicated, and patient. He was a good listener and loved debating especially proving Mohan wrong. Mark enjoyed many activities in his spare time including golfing, curling, dancing, entertaining family and friends, and charting statistics. His greatest achievement in life was being a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all those whose lives he touched. Family and friends will be received at SMITH FUNERAL HOME , 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Monday, December 3, 2018 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with one hour of visitation prior. The interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice (cheques only when donating at the funeral home please). Sorry for your loss. Mark was the best supervisor I ever had in my more than 30 years of service. May his soul rest in peace. We will miss you Mark.

I was at Imperial Oil with Mark and he was consistently known as, "One of the good ones". And everybody who worked they knows what that means.

Arriving home after a holiday I was sorry to learn of your dad while visiting Lanmark Village. I will always remember him cheering the boys on in hockey. Keep these memories close.
