Nora Gale Norris

NORRIS, Nora Gale - At Afton Park Place Nursing Home, Sarnia in the 99th year of her life, Nora Gale Norris (Bolton) died on November 29, 2018. Gale was born in Sarnia on April 15, 1920, the much loved only child of Arthur Frederick and Beatrice Mary Bolton (Corrick). She was predeceased by her husband of sixty years Alexander (Ike) Norris (October, 2005). She grew up in the Corrick family home on George Street in Sarnia and spent many summers visiting her Corrick relatives in Detroit, often travelling there by passenger ferry. Following her graduation from Sarnia Collegiate, Gale worked in the accounting office at Imperial Oil, Sarnia Refinery throughout the war until 1945. Kind and compassionate, Gale was unwavering in her faith and, like her parents and grandparents, she was a member of Central United Church. Gale is survived by her daughters Sandra Lang (Norman) of Sarnia and Janet Sutton (Kerry) of Forest, grandchildren Spencer Lang (Amanda) of London, Meggan Haynes (Derek) of Sarnia, Patrick Sutton (Ashlyn) of Bright’s Grove and Mairin Sutton of Forest and great-grandchildren Peyton Lang, Parker Lang, Ryder Haynes, Kylie Haynes, Colt Sutton, and Rex Sutton. The family thanks the staff of Afton Park Place Nursing Home and Dr. William O’Mahony for the skillful and compassionate care extended to their mother and grandmother. A funeral service will be held at SMITH FUNERAL HOME , 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Monday, December 3, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. with family and friends being received one hour prior to service. Interment to follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Sarnia. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Sarnia & District Humane Society or the Bluewater Health Foundation (cheques only at the funeral home please).
