Jim Rose

ROSE, Jim - Passed away peacefully at Seaforth Community Hospital, on Monday, November 12, 2018. Born in Windsor, Ontario on March 13, 1934, James Glenford Rose of Egmondville, was in his 85th year. Jim lived life with a love for family and community and he had a strong devotion to faith and farming. Predeceased by the love of his life, and wife of 43 years, Marian (née Lillico) Rose in 2001. Jim will be lovingly remembered by their children Patricia Rose of St. Catharines, Debra Clements (Dave) of Langley, BC, Janice Rose of Clinton, Glen Rose of Belleville and Sandy Palin (Ray) of Mississauga. Fond memories of a special grandpa remain with grandchildren Vincent (Ruthanne), Luke (Alivia), Adrian and Victor Clements and Samantha and Cassidy Palin. Jim will also be missed by his lodge brothers at the Independent Order of Oddfellows and the Seaforth Harmony Kings. Along with his wife, Marian, Jim is predeceased by his parents Glenford and Nettie (née Meriam) Rose. Friends will remember Jim as a cheerful, fun-loving community member who was active in Egmondville United Church, curling, the Oddfellows Lodge and many musical events in the area. Jim farmed in the Egmondville area for 40 years and retired to Egmondville. He spent the past three years at Maplewood Manor, Seaforth. He loved to sit and play the piano, sing and dance and follow sports. Visitation was held at McGLYNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME , Seaforth, 519-527-1390, on Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. At Jim's request a private funeral service was held and interment took place in Maitlandbank Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Seaforth Community Hospital Foundation, Seaforth Legion Branch 156, or the charity of one's choice are appreciated by the family and can still be made through the funeral home.
