FRANCES Murray

MURRAY, FRANCES - Frances Beatty Murray passed away peacefully on Monday, January 8, 2018 at Sumac Lodge in Sarnia at the age of 98. She was the dear wife of the late John David "Bunt "Murray, beloved mother of John "JD" Murray and of Ann Ino, husband Alan and loving grandmother of Chris Hartford, Melissa Hartford and Robert Ino. "Gee" as she was affectionately known, was a lifelong resident of Sarnia and was a committed volunteer in her community. She was an active member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church and the woman's organization I.O.D.E. Gee was loved for her sweet easy going disposition, and quick laugh. In addition, she was well regarded for her amazing cooking and baking skills. Over the years, family and friends alike enjoyed Gee's homemade bread, homemade pies and memorable Sunday roast beef dinners. My brother and I would like to thank the staff at Sumac Lodge for their wonderful care of our mother over these last years. A memorial service will be held at D.J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE , 102 N. Victoria St., Sarnia, ON, N7T 5W9 on Wednesday, February 7th, 2018 at 12:00 noon. A luncheon reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made to the charity of choice at www.canadahelps.org. Messages of condolence may be sent through www.djrobb.on.ca All things bright and beautiful, All creatures great and small, All things wise and wonderful: The Lord God made them all. Sorry about your Mom

Our sincerest sympathies in the passing of your mom. She was a very kind woman. When we first moved into the neighbourhood with our 4 children over 20 years ago we were pleasantly surprised to receive a much welcomed dinner and dessert sent over with JD from Mrs. Murray . It sure was appreciated in the midst of our move, unpacking etc..

Rest in Peace Mrs. Murray and kindest wishes always to the family.

Loss of a Great Generation

I was lucky to have worked for Bunt and Frances at Sokol and Murray Sports as a very young man. They were very humble, warm and giving. Wonderful people who made our community and country great. Never heard a bad word or complaint and did not know until later Bunt had been POW for lengthy time. Just wonderful people asked for nothing gave everything.
