Thank-you for all the lessons Freddy taught me. When he would yell, I thought he was yelling at me, but it was his tooth! I learned, it wasn't about me. When he couldn't do something and he would ask me to help - I learned about trust. When he was banned from city hall, community care, the library, ODSP, etc... I learned about true marginalization. Bus most of all, I learned how to care for someone unconditionally, and have that returned a thousand fold. Love you and miss you, my friend...
Thank you to the family

thank you for sharing such personal images of Freddy at the service on Monday. There were some good laughs and at times not a dry eye in the house. Freddy would have said something vile, and then apologized, but would have loved that so many loved him. Please consider publishing that poignant and compassionate poem. It should be heard.
So sorry I missed it

Violet and family

I'm so sorry but only heard this afternoon coming home from work on the radio that Fred had passed. I'm very sorry to you all. I've known Fred since our school days at Robertson School and even it was about 20 years I hadn't seen him until the last 12 years and whenever we t he always called me by name and I him. He never forgot his roots and loved you so very much.

First saw Freddy in 1971 at a BlackHawks game. My buddy pointed him out and said he was "toughest guy in St. Cath." I met him many times over the years. I always respected him and never had issues with him. Over the last 20 years I didn't see him very often but when I did I always spoke to him. Hadn't seen him for 3 or 4 months and was actually looking for him when I went to Hortons or groceries on Hartzel Rd.

Freddy had a hard life and died too young.

Rest in Peace Freddy , we all miss you.
