Dot Elliott

ELLIOTT, Dot - October 6, 1924 - January 10, 2018 To our sadness, Dot Elliott died in the early hours of January 10, 2018 shortly after being admitted to West Parry Sound Health Centre. She was a dapper, sharp-minded ninety-three year old with a real knack for making friends. Born Dorothy Taylor in Welland, Ontario, the third of four daughters. Dot was always happiest outdoors helping her father build or fix something. She continued this preference when she married Leslie Elliott in 1944. She and Les made homes in Stevensville, Fonthill, Welland and Elliot Lake, eventually settling in a cottage they built themselves on Wahwashkesh Lake near Parry Sound. They were the best of neighbours wherever they went, they were always ready to help or make music or have fun. Dot took pride in the happiness of her long marriage to Les, who died in 2013, and in her two sons, Tom and Jack, Tom's wife, Shirley and Jack's life partner, Jill Frayne. Dot has three grown grandchildren, Lesley McDonald, married to Brad, Rod Elliott and Graig Elliott, as well as four great-grandchildren, Leah, Brayden, Paige and Nathan. Dot was beloved sister to Nan, Alice and Eileen, all deceased, and she was a cherished aunt and friend to many, many others. A memorial celebrating Dot's life will be held on April 21, 2018 at 2PM, at TORRANCE FUNERAL HOME , 89 Bowes Street, Parry Sound, followed by a second celebration and interment of her ashes June 9, 2018 at 1 pm at St John's Anglican Church in Stevensville, Ontario. If desired, donations to the Trinity Anglican church (Parry Sound) or the St John's Anglican church (Stevensville) would be appreciated by the family. Jack & Jill, Tom & Shirley and Family,

Sending heartfelt condolences for the loss of your mother/grandmother. Dot was an exceptional woman, full of goodness. We share many fond memories of her and Les in earlier times and our last visit with her in Parry Sound, when my mother was so happy to see her before she passed shortly after.

May her legacy live on through all of you; the world needs more "Dot's".

My father was very grateful for the phone call Jack, thank you.

Joe, Gloria, Brenda
