Shirley Quehl

QUEHL, Shirley - Shirley Mae Quehl, 87, of Tavistock passed away peacefully, with family by her side, on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at the Maples Home for Seniors in Tavistock. She was born in East Zorra Township, Oxford County on October 14, 1930 a daughter of the late William and Catherine (Kipfer) Ruby. Shirley was a volunteer with Palliative Care and a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sebastopol-Tavistock. She married Robert W. Quehl at Tavistock on May 24, 1952. He predeceased her on April 3, 2015. Shirley is survived by six children, Robert J. Quehl and Katherine Browne, Dianne and husband Wayne Yundt, William and wife Lorraine Quehl, Tanya and husband Keith McKay, Terry and wife Lisa Quehl, Laurie and husband Dean Clarke; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Doreen and husband Jim Patterson, Fern and husband Glen Schaefer, Sharon and husband Frank Flanagan and Marilyn Weber; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Donna and Harold Wettlaufer; several nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by brother-in-law, Wayne Weber and son-in-law, Donald Brennan. Relatives and friends will be received in the Francis Funeral Home, 77 Woodstock St.N., Tavistock on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sebastopol-Tavistock on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 3 p.m. The Rev. Richard P. Brown will officiate. Reception following. Interment in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery later in the spring. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church Sound System Fund or Stratford Perth Rotary Hospice would be appreciated and may be made through the Francis Funeral Home by calling 519-655-2431.13242594

My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I remember spending many times playing Euchre at your home by the Cheese Factory. Shirley was always welcoming to us. You have many wonderful memories.
