Delores Anne Vanhoucke

VANHOUCKE, Delores Anne - Suddenly and unexpectedly passed away peacefully at the age of 73, on Friday, December 22nd, 2017, at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital. While she never did develop a love for cooking, she did enjoy watching the seasons change through her gardens, watching and listening to the birds and teasing her loving husband and best friend of 43 years, Roger Charles Vanhoucke. Loving mother and grandmother of: Paul Vanhoucke (Tanya Hamm), and daughter Lauren; Victoria (Jamie Jones), and their daughter Ava; Julie (Terry Hodgson), and their children: Logan and Abbie; Marci (Allan Brady), and their sons: Ethan and Noah. She was also dedicated to her friends and especially community concerns involving South-West Oxford Township, where she was a dedicated Standing Councillor and Member of South-West Oxford Township Council. Roger and Anne were justly proud of their family business Vanhoucke Country Garden Nursery. Anne was on the Board of Directors of both the Brownsville Hall Board and the Catfish Creek Conservation Authority, Aylmer. Loved sister and sister-in-law of: Peter Huyge (Cheryl), Patricia (Steve Ruppert), Pauline Loncke (and late Ed), Karl Huyge (Rose), Jim Huyge (Rosemary), and sister-in-law Sheila Huyge (and late Michael). Survived by in-laws: Cyril (Donna) Vanhoucke, Andre (Marie) Vanhoucke, Maurice (Jackie) Vanhoucke, Raymond (Margaret) Vanhoucke, Godelieve (and late Fred Poppe), Monique (Malcom Wood), and sister-in-law Lillian Vanhoucke (and the late Gerard) and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her parents: Marcel Huyge and Fernetta (McCormick) Huyge and their infant son Paul. Friends, neighbours and relatives were received by the family for visitation on Thursday, December 28th, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until Mass time at 11:00 a.m., in the St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 51 Venison Street West, Tillsonburg by Rev. Fr. Ben Huyge (a nephew of Anne) and Rev. Fr. Tom Ferrera. Interment followed in the Tillsonburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would sincerely appreciate memorial donations in memory of Anne to the "Heart and Stroke Fund" or the "Catfish Creek Conservation Authority" through the MAURICE J.
