GALLAGHER, David Arthur "Art" - Art passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the CKHA-Chatham Campus on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at the age of 80. He was a long-time resident of Chatham. Art was born in Cottesloe, ON, and was the son of the late Joseph and Patricia (Blakely) Gallagher. Beloved husband of Verna (Bond) Gallagher of Chatham. Dear father of Marilyn (Rick) Crawford of Ajax, Kim (Ken) Verbeem of Chatham and Carolyn (David) Allison of Toronto. Loving papa of Megan, Mitchell and James. Great-papa G of Ryleigh. Adored brother of Mae Sager and Dorothy Mayall. Predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Art was loved by all. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, ON, on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 from 7-9 p.m., and at Evangel Community Church, 76 Sandys Street, Chatham, ON, on Thursday, October 5, 2017 from 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., followed by the funeral service with Pastor Chris Couper, officiating. So sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Gallagher was such a great man to me. Being my pastor/bus driver for some years, he was a man who i looked up to for inspiration in being a better person like he was. God blessed me in knowing him. Sympathies Verna Marilyn Carolyn.
